Tennis courts by the baseball park are lighted and well kept.

Recreation includes fishing at the River, the Sandhills lakes, and at Lake Mac; a nine-hole grass greens golf course one mile south; and goose and duck hunting. The North Platte Valley Sportsman Club NPVSC Goose Hunt features a Calcutta and hunting competition, and is gaining wider recognition to sportsmen and women each year. July 4th draws friends and family to town to enjoy the free barbeque at the Park, kids races, a parade, etc. The night before, July 3rd, the Chamber collaborates with the Eagles Club to host a street dance and beer garden.
